SIP issues first license for running wholly-foreign-funded vocational training organizations

SIP announced on July 16 the (Trial) Implementation Measures for Establishment of Wholly-foreign-funded For-profit Vocational Training Organizations in China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Suzhou Area (hereafter referred to as Measures), and concurrently issued the first license for running educational programs under the Measures to Aesculap Academy, a Germany-based organization that provides continuing education to medical professionals.

The Measures marks another pioneering job that SIP has done in East China’s Jiangsu province in improving business environment. Boasting a mechanism that allows eligible organizations to go through administrative review procedures easily based on their commitment to compliance with relevant laws and regulations, it is expected to help facilitate founding of wholly-foreign-funded, for-profit vocational training organizations in the free trade zone in SIP and therefore propel cultivation of highly-skilled professionals in the area.

“The license will enable us to further enrich our educational programs to serve more medical professionals,” said a source from Aesculap Academy. The organization’s branch in SIP has offered over 600 training courses to about 30,000 medics since its founding in 2016, and organized more than 500 online lectures since February as a response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
